PPTP VPN

Stands for "Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol." PPTP is a networking standard for connecting to virtual private networks, or VPNs. VPNs are secure networks that can be accessed over the Internet, allowing users to access a network from a remote location.

PPTP operates on port 1723 and may be terminated on the firewall, or passed through to a Windows Server.

We would NOT recommend the latter as it may use the same username and password as the domain logon, thus exposing your internal network with the same credentials as your normal logon.
